Detailing Services

Many people think they are doing all that is needed to upkeep their vehicle by washing the exterior and vacuuming the carpets. They may even throw on a coat of wax once a year or so. This is helpful but insufficient to truly preserve the clear coat, and interior leather, fabric, vinyl, and plastics. A "detail" is much more than a car wash and vacuum! It is removal of harmful contaminants & dirt which age and degrade the looks of your vehicle and application of protective coatings to preserve your investment.

Dust and micro-dust which are stuck to the paint surface are lightly sandpapering your clear coat every time the vehicle is washed improperly. Contaminants such as motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and asphalt (tar) oils, all of which combine to create the road-film your vehicle picks up when you are driving behind others, especially in wet weather, and things such as tree sap and bird droppings which are caustic, all combine to erode the clear coat slowly. The average vehicle will lose up to 50% of its clear coat every 5 years depending on sun exposure, amount of driving time, and how it is treated and preserved. When the clear coat gets to less than 25% of its original depth, it usually starts separating from the base coat leaving the whitish "leprosy" areas on the upper surfaces. Sunlight and oxygen combine to age interior plastics and vinyl that haven't been treated with a UV protectant regularly. Leather dehydrates and starts cracking and separating if not moisturized and protected from stains. Dirt and sand abrade the fibers of the carpet causing it to have "bald spots".

For most people, their vehicle is the second largest investment they will make after their home! It only makes sense to protect it and prevent it's premature deterioration to maximize it's trade-in or resale value. Just like you need to change the oil and anti-freeze on a regular basis to keep the engine running properly, you need to correctly wash and protect the outside to keep the paint from deteriorating. You need to clean and protect the vinyl and plastics, and moisturize the leather regularly to keep them looking their best.
